How does God truly see me in Christ?

It is quite unfortunate that many born again Christians do not see themselves the way God sees them. Some of our brethren, sees themselves as a failure, unlovable, useless, and others even think that God is angry with them for a transgression they committed in time past. But those mindset you have about yourself is not true, they do not define your true identity. Your true worth is the way God sees you in Christ. The way God sees you reveals your true identity and God only sees you in his Son Jesus Christ. To be in Christ reveals who you truly are in the sight of God.

This is the reason why it is imperative, and as a matter of necessity to give yourself continually to study God's word, because the way God sees you is conspicuously revealed in the holy scriptures without any ambiguity whatsoever. Therefore, it behooves us to study God's word more, so we can get to know who we truly are in Christ Jesus. There are countless passages which reveals how God sees you in Christ, but my purpose for this article is to give you some of the ways God sees you in Christ

As a new creature

''Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come'' (2 Corinthians 5: 17). We are said to be in Christ, and to be in Christ speaks of the intimate eternal union we have with Jesus Christ. We are also described as a new creation, we are new creatures, our kind has never been seen before. Our past no longer defines us, for behold all things have become new. This is how God sees us in Christ.

He sees us as righteous

''He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5: 21). God does not see us as poor dirty sinners, no, but sees us as righteous. When God looks at us, he only sees the sinless righteousness of Christ on us. God calls us righteous, for this is who we truly are in Christ Jesus.

He sees us as forgiven

''As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us (Psalms 103: 12). God through the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ has removed our sins from us. Our slates have been wiped clean, there is no iota of sin standing against us. In Christ, we are completely forgiven of all our sins. Brethren, this is how God sees you in Christ

As Chosen

''Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him (Ephesians 1: 4). God in his love for us, chose you and me in Christ before time began, before the foundation of the world. He chose us as his own, so if other people rejects you, comfort yourself with this truth, that God has chosen you and accepted you in Christ.

As Holy and blameless

''Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him (Ephesians 1: 4). God chose us for a reason, so that we may be holy and blameless before him in love. The day we trusted in Christ for salvation, we became holy and blameless in the sight of God. God does not see any spot or wrinkle in us, but sees us as completely holy and blameless, because of what Jesus accomplished on our behalf

As forever loved

The Lord appeared to him from afar, saying, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with loving kindness (Jeremiah 31: 3). God's love for us is an unconditional kind of love. His love for us did not begin at a certain point in time, but dates back in eternity, for this cause, I do not doubt the fact that he will continue to love me throughout eternity. In Christ, God sees us as the objects of his eternal love.

As his adopted children

''He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will (Ephesians 1: 5). Through faith in Christ, God adopted us as his legitimate children. As an adopted child is a permanent member of a family according to law, so we also are permanent legitimate members of God's family and are entitled to all the rights and privileges as sons and daughters of God.

As his workmanship

''For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them (Ephesians 2: 10). God created and saved us for a purpose. We are not here by chance, but we are here because God chose and saved us for good works. We are God's masterpiece created in Christ Jesus to abound in good works. Let us see to it that we are zealous of good works.

As Sealed with the Holy Spirit

''In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise (Ephesians 1: 13). After we trusted in Christ for salvation, we were sealed with the Holy Spirit. To be sealed denotes God's ownership of us. This means that in Christ, we are God's very own, he has sealed us by his Spirit unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 4; 30).

As dead to sin

''Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus (Romans 6: 11). This is the way God sees us, as dead to sin. Sin no longer controls us, we are dead to it's dominating power. So let us consider ourselves dead to sin, but alive to God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sees us as secured in our salvation

''Who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time (1 Peter 1: 5). The salvation ready to be revealed by which we are kept through faith is the salvation of our bodies. We are kept by the power of God through faith unto the day of the redemption of our body. This text speaks of the security of our salvation, we are forever secure in God's love.

As a Friend

And the Scripture was fulfilled which says,--- "And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness," and he was called the friend of God (James 2: 23). Abraham after he was declared righteous, became a friend of God. Jesus also called his early disciples as his friends, see (John 15; 15). You and I are also declared righteous, and God calls us his friends. Jesus also calls us his friends, because we are his disciples as well.

See yourself the way God sees you

Beloved in Christ, I encourage you to begin to view yourself exactly the way God sees you in Christ. But you cannot know who you are in Christ, without making time to read your bible more often. The devil will always thrive on your ignorance of God's word. I beseech you to study and memorize the scriptures which reveals your identity in Christ, like the ones I have touched on in this article. To meditate also means to speak forth, so memorize the scriptures which reveals who you are in Christ and begin to speak it forth. This will form your mindset and it will be a great blessing to you in your Christian life. From henceforth, do not look down upon yourself, because you are dearly loved and very special to your heavenly Father, see (1 Peter 2; 9)

A thought to ponder

We are kept by the power of God through faith unto the day of the redemption our body

We defend and exposit the truth of the gospel
